**Please Note** 02/09/2010 Important Announcement — Due to recent changes in Canadian regulations for importation of equine semen from the United States, you will need to obtain an import permit from the CFIA.

Information is available on the Equine Canada website. We recommend that you obtain a multiple entry permit which is valid for one year and costs $60 (Canadian). Copies of this permit or the original copy of a single entry permit must be sent us at North Point Farm in order for us to expedite the semen shipment to your mare. If we do not have these permits in our hands at the time you call in your mare for breeding, we will not be able to ship semen to your farm.

In addition we are required to obtain a U.S. Health Certificate for each shipment and charges for additional paperwork and USDA veterinarian signatures will be applicable.

We are a USDA approved quarantine facility and do have frozen semen available which was collected during quarantine and therefore meets USDA standards for export and Canada’s standards for import. If you would like to utilize frozen semen rather than fresh cooled semen, please contact us for further details.

Please be assured that we are doing everything in our power to make shipments from our stallions to Canada possible and are trying to stay abreast of all of the new regulations. To date, no Percheron stallions have been implicated in the recent CEM outbreak and we are taking every precaution in our procedures to keep our farm free of CEM.

Please note below the call times for requesting international shipment to Canada:

Please understand that because semen shipments must have the signature of the U.S.D.A., all paperwork must go to the U.S.D.A. and turnaround times for this are at least 24 hours. This is beyond our control. We strongly recommend the use of frozen semen to our clients so that they have semen when they need it without having to worry about time delays crossing the borders.
